Have any other questions?

Is it compulsory to have home insurance?

No. The law only requires people to have certain types of insurance such as car insurance. It’s true that if you have a mortgage, it’s necessary to take out fire insurance. In many cases, home insurance is also required if there is a rental contract.

Is fire insurance compulsory?

Yes. If you have a mortgage, you are required to have at least fire insurance for the property.

Is damage caused by extreme weather events included in home insurance?

Home Protection

If your home sustains either interior or exterior damage caused by wind (gusts of more than 75km/h), rain (more than 40l/m2 per hour), hail (including hailstones) or snow, it will be protected.

Blink Home

If your home sustains either interior or exterior damage caused by wind (gusts of 96-120 km/h), rain (more than 40l/m2 per hour), hail (including hailstones) or snow, it will be protected.

Can I add something new I have bought (e.g. a television set) to my home insurance policy?

You can always make a change to your policy’s covers.

This service only includes the use of minor materials (silicone, screws). The materials and supplies needed to carry out the work must be provided and paid for by the insured.

2. This service requires the existence of a nearby electrical grid connection point for use by the supplier’s personnel.

3. This service can be used once a year per eligible policy.

4. The following repairs are not covered:

✔  Installation of lamps, wall lights or ceiling lights requiring a new light point.

✔  Installation of halogen lamps.

✔  Changing plugs, sockets and switches involving the handling of electrical wiring.

✔  Installation of outlets for glass-ceramic hobs.

✔  Repair of roller shutters (including the replacement of straps, slats) with a cord, crank or electric mechanism, built-in housing and metal shutters.

✔  Installing baseboards.

✔  Installing or changing windowpanes.

✔  Filling probes.

✔  Interior door locks. Eliminating chafing on windows or doors.

✔  Cleaning of filters and drain mechanisms of household appliances.

✔  Metal welds. Everything related to the home’s entrance doors (locks, latches, handles, etc.).
