FAQ

Have any other questions?

How is the price of my insurance calculated?

A funeral insurance policy’s premium will depend on your chosen place of burial, as burial costs vary from place to place. Another variable to take into account when calculating the insurance premium is the age of the insured.

What’s funeral insurance and what does it cover?

In addition to covering the costs associated with a death, it takes care of all the necessary administrative procedures. It also provides your family with a psychological support team.

What’s the difference between periodic premium insurance and periodic premiums for funeral insurance?

The Individual Funeral Protection insurance (one-off premium) is for residents of Spain over 65 years of age who want to have everything taken care of so that their relatives will not have to worry about the expenses and administrative procedures of a funeral. You pay once and then forget about it.

Funeral Protection insurance (periodic premium) is for individuals or families who want to have the costs and arrangements following a death covered. It offers long-term cover with an annual and reduced premium for easy payment.

How much does a funeral service cost?

If we add up the costs of the wake, coffin, burial or cremation, flowers, hearse, announcements, etc., the price can be high. The average cost of a simple burial is more than €3,700, while a cremation costs just a little less. There can also be considerable differences between cities, with the cost exceeding €5,000 in some of them.

Can I pay for my funeral insurance in instalments?

Yes. Funeral Protection’s annual premium can be paid in monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual instalments. Find out more at Banc Sabadell branches.
