I need a tow truck

Should you need a tow truck, we’ll explain what steps to follow and how to contact us by phone:

  1. Safety first: park your vehicle in a safe place, put on your hazard lights and make sure you’re out of danger before getting out of the car. Be sure to wear a reflective vest and place warning triangles in the roadway if the situation warrants it. When you get out of the vehicle, stay clear of the roadway at all times and get your family members to safety.
  2. Text us by WhatsApp: using the word "Grúa" or call us at 933 661 280.
  3. Wait for the tow truck: you’ll be able to track your tow truck’s location in real time. Roadside assistance generally arrives in about 30 minutes.

FAQs

Have any other questions?

How do I make a car insurance claim?

Click here to find out everything you need to know to report a car accident.

You can contact the company to report a claim using the phone number stated on your policy:

If you have a Blink Car Insurance policy: 933 661 278

Remember that the claims helpline is available 24/7/365.

Is it possible to include more than one driver in the policy?

Yes. Insured cars are sometimes driven by a person who is not designated in the policy as a primary or secondary driver. Drivers over 25 years of age who have had a license for more than 2 years are covered by the policy. Only individuals who do not meet both requirements, i.e. being under the age of 25 or having had a driving licence for less than 2 years, should be explicitly specified and listed as frequent drivers.

What documents do I need to have with me in the car?

You must carry three documents when driving, irrespective of the type of journey. They are your guarantee that you are complying with the law and the rules necessary to drive safely and will be the first thing an officer will ask you for if you are stopped or involved in an incident. The document that all drivers must carry is the driving licence; for the vehicle, the vehicle registration certificate, the MOT and the roadworthiness certificate are required. Remember that you are required to always carry valid original documents, and that only certified photocopies are deemed to be valid.

  • DRIVING LICENCE. It must be carried at all times when driving. In its absence, the provisional authorisation issued by the Jefatura de Tráfico (Traffic Headquarters) can be used.
  • REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE. It must be carried in the car at all times when driving.
  • THE VEHICLE’S MOT CERTIFICATE. The latest MOT report and sticker affixed to the windscreen. It’s compulsory for all vehicles over a certain age (e.g. from the age of four years in the case of passenger cars).

COMPULSORY INSURANCE. The law also requires the owner of a vehicle to have compulsory liability insurance to cover damage or injury to third parties. Since 2008, it has not been necessary to carry the valid insurance policy and last payment receipt in the car, as officers are able to check whether the vehicle is insured on the spot. In any event, it never hurts to keep them in the glovebox.
